Applying for a local permit usually means printing forms, guessing which one you need, and a trip to Town Hall during business hours. TownPermits is an early attempt to make that first step easier — a simple online place to put together a permit application from your phone or computer.
We're in beta, and we want to be upfront about what this is.
What TownPermits is
- An independent service that helps you organize the information a permit application typically needs.
- A single online form instead of a stack of paper.
- A project actively working to partner with towns so applications can eventually reach the right office.
What TownPermits is not
- We are not a government agency, and we're not affiliated with or endorsed by any municipality.
- Submitting the form does not file an official permit or guarantee approval.
- For an official permit, you'll still work with your town's own office — we'll point you there.
What's next
We're talking with towns about running a pilot. As that comes together, we'll share updates here — including which municipalities are participating and how the process works once we're connected to an official office.
